As always, it was great to take my camera out to photograph a dog event! Not to mention how much I enjoyed supporting my friends from ARFhouse at their biggest animal charity event of the year held at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Pottsboro, TX!
The volunteers and event coordinators worked hard and put together an awesome event. I’m sure it was a big success in raising money to help the animals in their rescue. In addition to the golf tournament, there was a putting contest, raffle, silent auction, and great prizes!
I have to say I can’t imagine a better June day for the event! The weather was absolutely perfect! I really enjoyed starting my day and my week out on the beautiful golf course. I also have to add, having a golf cart to get around on was oh-so-helpful! If only all our sessions had transportation like that…! haha
The golf tournament truly was a fun time for all with a few dogs in there too- hamming it up for the camera! Naturally, those were some of my favorite photo opps!
Do you know about ARFhouse?
Here’s who they are and what they do…. in their own words…
“ARFhouse is a sanctuary for abandoned and abused dogs; we are their advocates, and if space is available, we accept any dog who doesn’t have a home. At any time, we house and care for 350 dogs, which is what space allows. We spay or neuter all the dogs who arrive, and provide them with medical attention they need. The next step is re-homing the dogs, which takes time and effort. Many dogs will stay at ARFhouse for life, but we want those who can find love and care in a home environment to have the best chance to do so. ”
I’ve known the ARFhouse group for over 5 years now and have contributed in various ways over the years. I’m always glad to help when my schedule allows. It’s a wonderful cause and I have seen firsthand how the heart of the organization is truly doing what’s best for the animals, no matter what and I love that!!

I have to make special mention of a puppy named Jenna after me! It’s a long story, but to sum it up- I assisted in getting her out of a very bad situation and the ARFhouse crew took her in and has changed her life!! She is so lucky to have found her way to ARFhouse and is currently waiting for her forever family! I know she is going to make her future forever family very happy. Not to mention she has the cutest face and beautiful eyes- check her out!!
From ARFhouse: “Jenna is a SUPER sweet girl that loves everything! Jenna gets along great with other dogs and LOVES children! Jenna can be a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly (especially when other dogs or kids are around) and loves human affection. Very sweet and playful, Jenna would make a lovely addition to any home. ”
(If I could have, I would have adopted her– but we have a full house!)
