Honey Doo, Basset Hound from Flower Mound

Honey Doo with her adorable name and endearing personality made a fabulous Miss June for the North Texas Basset Hound Rescue’s 2019 calendar.

She rocked her dog photography modeling with the help of some bite-sized hot dog bites her mom brought along. While hot dogs might not be the typical treat her mom gives her- that’s the point. We want to use high-value treats that are for special occasions, like dog photography sessions with me! I always tell my clients that a dog we can bribe is a dog we can get great images of! …haha..

I photographed Honey Doo at a local park in Flower Mound, which was a convenient location for them since it wasn’t far from home. I have a master list of all sorts of fabulous photo shoot locations for various types of aesthetics and situations.  For Honey Doo’s session, Stone Creek Park was an awesome little spot for photos that have an earthy, natural feel to them.

One of my favorite features here are the large rocks throughout the creek itself, as well as on the sides of the creek. I found one stone to be the perfect spot to place Honey Doo. Her mom and I were in awe of the great location and the scenery.

As we took a series of portraits in this spot we both agreed that this spot and one of the resulting photos would likely be “the one” for Honey Doo’s calendar spot and lone behold, that’s what was chosen.

Having now written and reminisced about this photo session and the awesome location- I can’t wait for my next session there. It’s really one-of-a-kind!
