Before

So how does this work?
I completely understand that booking a photography session might be a totally new experience for you, especially if it involves your dog. No worries! A place a huge focus on customer service and will be with you every step of the way to help you navigate the process and make things easier. After all, it’s my job! All the major details are covered on the start here page.

What do you photograph?
I photograph any combination of people and pets. Primarily my clients have dogs but I am completely comfortable and open to photographing cats, hamsters, llamas, etc. If you’re interested any form of pet photography or just people portraits, you’re in the right spot here. I photograph all of those too and have examples in my portfolio galleries.

What areas do you offer your photography services in?
Because I work on location, I go to my clients and can travel virtually anywhere for my clients. A large portion of my photo sessions take place in the Denton, McKinney, Grapevine, Prosper, Frisco, Aubrey, Melissa, Anna, Lucas, Plano, Lewisville, Van Alstyne and Sherman areas but truly I travel throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

I regularly travel to the College Station and Bryan areas too and love getting to photograph people and pets in Aggieland!

In addition, I seasonally make trips throughout Texas and to South Florida in the Jupiter, West Palm Beach, Miami areas. Plus my suitcase and gear is always ready for a trip anywhere for commercial and private clients.

Regardless of where you’d like your session to take place, I’d love to work with you and your dog.

How do I know if you're the right photographer for me?

I completely understand that you want to find the right fit for your photography needs. I like to do my research before I give anyone my business too! I’d suggest reviewing my portfolio first to see if my style and past client images appeal to you. You can also check learn about me and read testimonials from past clients too. In addition, when we email, chat over the phone, or in person for a consult you’ll get to know me and hopefully we’ll find out we’re a fit!

I have ___ dogs can you photograph them all?
Most likely yes! Just contact me and fill me in and we’ll go from there. I’ve photographed large groups before and have some tips and tricks to make it work.

How long does the process take?
Normally from photo session date to final order delivery, I tell my clients to expect it to take 4-8 weeks, with most cases taking around 6 weeks. It all depends on your schedule and availability for scheduling too. If you have a deadline or a timeline you’d like to meet, just let me know in the beginning of the process and I will always work with you as best I can.

How much does it cost?
There are two factors to consider about the cost. The first is the session fee. This varies based on your location, number of “faces” in the photo and any special additions you would like to incorporate in your sessions such as videography or multiple shoot locations. This fee varies but is usually in the $250-$450 range. The next part of your investment is the prints and products. Everything is offered on an a la carte structure, so you are not locked into spending a certain amount or purchasing specific products. You can order what best fits your needs, style, and budget with no minimum. Typically, my clients invest anywhere from 500-5000 on the session fee and their order.

What if I don’t know what to wear?
No problem! I share my tips and tricks with a “What to Wear Guide” and can even offer advice on your specific choices over email or in person during the initial consult.

What if I don’t have any location ideas or don’t like my backyard?
Not a problem. I have an extensive list of locations all over the place! We can talk about the options and I can show you photos or videos of some location choices. I can check out photos or videos of your backyard and you might be surprised to hear that it has plenty of promise for a photo session. Regardless, we’ll find the perfect location for you, your dogs, and the style you’re going for.

What if my dog can’t be off a leash?
No problem! This is actually perfectly ok and with the magic of my Photoshop skills leashes can be removed. Every session comes with complimentary basic leash removal in Photoshop. While more complex leash removal may require an additional fee, most cases fall under the free basic editing. I’ll fill you in on all of this prior to your session. Plus I have helpful tips and tricks to use during your session if your dog is on a leash.

Do you offer traditional studio photography?
Yes and no. I don’t have a studio location, but I can bring my studio equipment on location and create studio-style images at your home.

Do you photograph extended families?
In most instances yes. I can photograph extended families with your without pets.

My dog needs time to warm up to new people. Will a photo shoot stress him out?
I am used to working with pets of different breeds and personalities in all sorts of situations and always do my best to keep the photography session low key and stress-free. If you are worried about how your dog will handle a photo session, just let me know when booking and we’ll plan accordingly. I will also offer tips and tricks to make the photo session go smoothly AND get great images.

What if my dog is high energy?

My dog is elderly/ill and time is limited. I would like to schedule right away. Is this possible?
YES! Please don’t worry, I’ll work with you in any way I can to get your dog photographed right away.

During

Can I/we be in the photos?
Yes! I specialize in photographing both pets and people so you are completely welcome to be in as much of the photo session as you would like. Most clients want a combination of images with just their dog, people with the dog, and even the family without the dog. All of that is no problem at all since I am experienced working with all sorts of dogs and people. We’ll chat about this in advance so I know exactly what you’d like before the photo session.

What if I don't want to be in the photos?
Yes! I specialize in photographing both pets and people but both don’t have to be included in the session. It’s totally up to you. Some of my clients aren’t really a fan of being in front of the camera and choose to be present in the photos through creative photographic angles I use, such as from the waist down, hands, feet, from behind and other views that don’t focus on you.

Can my photo session take place at more than one location?
Absolutely. As we plan your session, we can discuss location options and additional fees for more than one location.

What if my dog isn’t well-trained?
Don’t worry at all! Most of my clients don’t have perfectly mannered dogs and its okay! I have worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, and training levels and had successful photo sessions. Of course, having basic obedience skills or fun tricks can help make the photo session more fun and give us more control in the final images. However, it’s not a requirement and you shouldn’t hold back because of it.

What should I bring?
Before your session, we’ll discuss everything you might need to consider for a perfect sessions. Usually you personally don’t need to bring much, other than the basics, but it all depends on your dog and the type of photos you are hoping for. We’ll definitely cover this specifically for you during planning.

Can I include props?
Yes, you are welcome to include anything meaningful you want in your photos. During our session planning, we’ll discuss this and if you’re looking to add props I can throw out ideas and suggestions. Past clients have incorporated props such as dog birthday cakes, balloons, signs, favorite toys, blankets, and much more. Though sessions without props are of course an option too. It’s all about your style and goals.

What if the weather is bad?
No problem, if the weather forecast predicts something that would hurt your photo session, such as rain, we’ll coordinate for a new date. I always leave wiggle room in my schedule because we all know how complicated the weather can be in Texas!

After

What happens after my photo session?
We all go home tired and happy! Then I start the behind the scenes work on editing and organizing your images and selecting the very best to show you! We’ll coordinate our schedules for the viewing and ordering session, which is our next step together. Usually this happens about 7 to 14 days after your photo session. We meet up to view the images, browse my samples, and make your final selections. My clients tell me this process is very helpful and exciting. After you’ve made your decisions, I go off to do the work of putting the final touches on the images so they are absolutely perfect and order your products. After that comes the delivery, which is usually in person but can be through the mail, depending on what you have ordered and where you live. It’s like Christmas morning! You get to unwrap treasured art staring your beloved dog and gush over how wonderful it is. (My favorite part!)

How long will it take to get my order?
This varies based on what you order. For instance, a framed and matted print or coffee table album is going to take longer to create than individual prints. On average it takes 2-5 weeks to get your order in your hands. Although, rush services are available (sometimes requiring an additional fee) and if I know of deadlines in advance I may be able to get you your order in as quick as 4-5 days. Again, this is based on what you need and time of year and you letting me know as quickly as possible of any urgent needs.
